To allow an Account-based approach to configuring Valkre, a new feature is available: Customer Types.
Customers will now be required to be assigned a 'Customer Type'. By associating a Customer Type, Valkre can now be configured to adjust the following features for each Customer Type:
- Process (as represented by the Left Hand Navigation)
- Home Page Layouts (as represented by Widgets on the Customer Home Page)
For example, you may wish to have a different set of features activated for a large Global Account and a smaller Regional Account. Organizations can now create Customer Types for each scenario, and deploy the desired features for each.
It is recommended to work with your Customer Success manager to devise your approach to Customer Types. Below is an overview of how Admins can set up Customer Types in your Valkre instance.
Setting Up Customer Types
Under Settings -> Customers you will find Customer Types. Here is where you can create Customer Types.
Clicking into a Customer Type provides a series of steps to configure the Customer Type.
- Steps: defines the Process structure of the Left Hand Navigation
- Features: defined which features to activate to execute the process
- Layouts: defines the Customer Home Page and subsequent Widget Layouts
Customer Types does not change Role-based Application Security. If a Valkre User does not have access to a Feature defined for a Customer Type, they will still not be able to access that feature. Please refer to Release Notes on new Process & Layout Configuration capabilities for more details.
Once the Customer Types are defined, Customers can be assigned to the Customer Types upon creation and/or under the Customer Settings.
